Michael Moynihan TD, from the rural area of Kiskeam in North Cork, was first elected to Dáil Eireann in 1997 at 29 years of age. After completing secondary school, he spent ten years as a full time dairy farmer, during which he took measure of the impact of government policies in everyday life and honed his knowledge of the workings of bureaucracy.

Since he was first elected in 1997, Michael has maintained a full time constituency office in Kanturk, open to the public 5 days a week. He also has a sub-office in Charleville and holds regular clinics in all other areas of the constituency. In his years representing Cork North West, Michael has delivered massive investment in schools, infrastructure, community amenities and sports facilities throughout his constituency.
